Event Description

Fremont Oktoberfest is your fall kick-off celebration in the "Center of the Universe" Fremont, Washington. Voted by USA Today and Orbitz.com as one of the top places to toast Oktoberfest, this three-day event has an activity for kids and adults of all ages!

And, it's all for a good cause! The Fremont Chamber of Commerce is the beneficiary of Fremont Oktoberfest. A portion of the proceeds goes toward funding local schools, art groups, community event and promoting Fremont as the "Center of the Universe."

What we'll be doing

Volunteers will be working at the entrance booth where the fun begins! After providing the proper identification to our security staff, our patrons will be itching to try the microbrews. We need friendly folks to assist the cashiers in getting our guests into the event by giving them their tasting mug and tokens!

What you should know

Volunteers will receive FREE admission to The Stranger Microbrew Garden at Fremont Oktoberfest, plus a souvenir tasting mug and six tokens to sample brews as you wish. You will also receive a coveted volunteer t-shirt (a few of you may have collected them through the years!), the opportunity to meet fellow beer lovers and volunteers, and the good feeling that comes from helping a cause. Fremont Oktoberfest is a benefit for the Fremont Chamber of Commerce; a portion of the proceeds goes toward funding local schools, art groups, community event and promoting Fremont as the “Center of the Universe.”

Where to meet

Volunteer check-in is located to the right of The Stranger Microbrew Garden entrance on 35th Street near the intersection of Phinney Ave North. Once checked in, you will receive your volunteer t-shirt and a festival program to review. The area manager for your volunteer assignment will meet you and your fellow volunteers to lead you to your area and deliver additional training.

Other Info: After Your Shift & USING YOUR FREE ADMISSION At the end of your shift your manager will have retrieved a new volunteer. Spend some time training the new volunteer and tell them what to expect throughout their shift. Once you've handed off your volunteering knowledge, return to the volunteer booth to check out. If you choose to use your free event admission after your shift, we will ask you to change out of your volunteer t-shirt and you will receive a wristband, a tasting mug and tokens. You can also choose to use your free admission at another time. USING YOUR FREE ADMISSION: You may only drink after your shift or the day before your shift. (For example, if you are volunteering late on Sunday, you can come on Saturday, check-in at the Volunteer Check-In booth and use your free admission.) YOU CANNOT DRINK BEFORE (OR DURING) YOUR SHIFT. This is important. It is illegal for an intoxicated individual to serve alcohol. You will be removed from the event if this occurs. After the event, everyone will receive a volunteer evaluation form. We really appreciate your thorough and honest feedback so we can make next year even better.
